Building and Maintaining a Positive School Culture

At Bayside, we are committed to building and maintaining a school culture which values diversity, promotes acceptance and inclusion, and ensures a safe and respectful learning environment for all.  

Diversity is the presence of a wide range of human qualities and attributes within a group, organization, or society.  The dimensions of diversity include, but are not limited to, ancestry, culture, ethnicity, gender, gender identity, language, physical and intellectual ability, race, religion, sex, sexual orientation, and socio-economic status.  

In our school, we strive to provide equitable and inclusive education and we value responsible citizenship, encouraging students to actively and appropriately participate in the civic life of our school community.  In doing so, we continue to engage students in critical discussions about the ways in which we can promote a sense of belonging which contributes to every individual’s sense of well-being. 

That being said, we also recognize that this important work involves the broader community, particularly yourselves as parents and guardians, as we endeavor to create strong home-school partnerships.  As such, we also encourage you to open up this dialogue about diversity, acceptance and inclusion with your children at home.
